Strome Injured in Islanders Win Over Rangers

NEW YORK — Ryan Strome left Wednesday’s win late in the second period with an upper body injury and things don’t look too good for the Islanders forward.

Strome collided with Brady Skjei and went off to the Islanders dressing room. The team announced that he would not return to the game during the second intermission.

Islanders interim head coach Doug Weight said after the game that he was “not doing great.” Weight was also not too optimistic about how long Strome could be out.

“I can’t elaborate too far on that because I’m not 100 percent sure, but he wont be with us on the weekend. And probably longer,” Weight said.

Strome saw nine minutes of ice time before leaving the game on Wednesday. The Islanders forward has 13 goals and 30 points in 69 games this season.
